Helene’s dream growing up was to have a dog of her own. She now lives with three rescue dogs pit mix Harrison, bichon mix Biscuit and Doberman Noodle, as well as visiting foster dogs, and her very patient husband.
Helene started a career as a ph.d. economist, but after 15 years in the dismal science, she decided she wanted to do something useful in her life and became a dog trainer. Helene enjoys working with dogs and their people to solve dog problems from unruly puppy behaviors to aggression issues and everything in between. She has studied Scandinavian training methods and incorporates play into training to make it fun for everyone.
Helene is an active partner in the dog training community and is a volunteer dog trainer and mentor with the Washington Humane Society. She is a certified dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers; and a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She studied animal behavior at George Mason University.
